Account Executive

RemoteFrance, Île-de-France, ParisSales

Job description

👋 Hi there! Orbit is hiring our first Account Executive to partner with our co-founder and CEO to land accounts and begin defining key processes. We’re looking for a people-oriented AE who’s experienced with early-stage sales and interested in working closely with customers and other teams to drive customer impact.

You’ll be responsible for uncovering new opportunities from our growing user base, building relationships across the industry, and managing the sales cycle from initial outreach, to demo and close. Along the way, you’ll partner with our community, success, marketing, and product teams to improve processes and deliver key customer insights back to the organization.

We’re currently experiencing organic growth and inbound interest from mid-market and enterprise buyers. All sales have been founder-led so far, so we’re eager to find the right person to help build and scale what’s working and improve what’s not.

On any given day, you might spend time:

  • Guiding deals from initial conversation through close with the support of our CEO and a solutions engineer

  • Consulting potential customers on trends and best practices in the community space

  • Uncovering new opportunities among our growing user base

  • Defining and iterating on the sales process

  • Working with the marketing team to create sales support materials

  • Collaborating with product and marketing teams on pricing and packaging strategies

  • Sharing customer feedback and trends with the rest of the company

  • Helping to build the foundation and processes for all the go-to-market teams

Job requirements

We’re looking for someone with work experience along these lines:

  • 3+ years of SaaS sales experience in Mid-Market or Enterprise role, with a record of meeting and beating quota

  • Experience dealing effectively with complex procurement processes

  • Experience selling SAAS, with experience selling sales, marketing, or community tools a big plus

  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills with the ability to demo, sell and negotiate at all decision-making levels

  • Willingness to work creatively with the CEO and other teams to define and refine processes (since very few exist today)

  • Adaptability and willingness to work in a high-growth, high-change environment

If you don’t feel that you meet those qualifications on paper but are still excited about the opportunity, please apply anyway! We believe great talent can come from anywhere, and we know that a resume doesn’t tell the whole story of who you are and what you can do.

Working at Orbit

Orbit is a remote-first, fully distributed company with employees all over the world. To make sure our team has some overlap time to meet synchronously, we limit our hiring to candidates in time zones between UTC-7 and UTC+3. We do not offer visa sponsorship at this time.

We offer to all employees:

  • Competitive compensation including salary and stock options

  • Flexible and family-friendly working arrangements

  • Your dream hardware, software, and conferencing setup for your home office

  • Opportunities for professional development, which might include books, courses, conferences, or community events

Need something not listed here? Let’s talk about it! At Orbit, we have teammates around the world, so certain benefits (like time off, health insurance, retirement, and other things) will vary based on where you live. We take the health and well-being of our teammates seriously. Just tell us what you need to be happy and successful, and we’ll try our best to accommodate.

The hiring process

We are a young startup, frequently iterating on our interview processes. The specific steps you go through may vary, but for all candidates, we hold the following principles in mind:

  • Everyone hears back from us, no matter the decision. At Orbit, nobody’s application falls into a black hole.

  • We respect candidates’ time and energy. We will strive for a 2-3 week interview process, unless you request more time.

  • We conduct conversational interviews as well as collaboration sessions, which are designed to help you get a sense of what it’s really like to work with our team.

  • We want everyone, candidates as well as interviewers, to come away feeling positive about the experience. Everyone should feel that they got something out of meeting and exploring the opportunity together, even if an offer isn’t extended or accepted.

And most importantly:

Orbit does not discriminate in employment matters on the basis of race, color, religion, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, military service eligibility, veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or any other protected class. We support workplace diversity. In fact, we strongly believe that diversity contributes to a broader collective perspective that will consistently lead to a better company and better products. We are working hard to increase the diversity of our team wherever we can and we actively encourage everyone to consider becoming a part of it.
